Imagine you have a scale which has a zero in the center, with graduating positive numbers going up and negative ones going down. Now every thought that you have is either positive or negative and carries with it a certain degree that's worth a particular value on your energy scale. The object of this exercise, of course, is to keep your energy value on the plus end.
With every thought you have, rate it as positive or negative and write it down on a piece of paper. Rank each thought from 1 to 3 or from -1 to -3, depending on whether it's positive or negative and to what degree, 1 being a small positive thought, 2, a normal positive thought and 3, a very positive thought. Do the same with the negative thoughts you have except using minuses.
Make a scale for each day and then at the end of that day, plot the energy value on your scale. This will give you a good idea of how you're doing with your positive awareness goals. And when you do this, you will most likely be much more aware of actually creating good positive thoughts instead of the opposite.
Keeping a record of accomplishing a specific goal can quite often help you achieve that goal much more quickly than if you don't, because you are adding an element to the goal that helps you stay focused.
