37: REACTIVE AND INTENTIONAL THINKING

While many people talk about creating positive energy in their lives, few know much about what it takes to intentionally make it reality. Most of what they manage to get will be hap-hazard at best. Both terms, positive energy and positive awareness, are grossly misunderstood by the general public and are only used for specific situations, rather than as methodology by which to live. It isn't rocket science, but yet it eludes almost anyone who is trying to create it. When it does happen, it's usually by accident.

Wouldn't it be awesome if you could create positive energy and positive awareness with purpose and intent, rather than by wishing and hoping for them? Well, you can, but you have to understand some basic concepts, such as controlling your thoughts and speech in such a way that the energy which is created by them is only positive. Unfortunately, many would rather not have to do any extra work to get real results and there is some work involved to accomplish this. It isn't hard work, but nevertheless, it will take some focus and time to get the results that you are looking for.

If we break down thought and speech into their most basic form, what we discover is that thought is where it all begins and this is where people make huge mistakes, by simply not thinking before they speak. And it matters not whether speech is preceded by thought, because everything a person says creates energy. Therefore, you should always think about what is about to come out of your mouth before it creates the wrong kind of energy.

Not only is there positive and negative energy, but there is also a reaction or an intent of some kind. Something happens in your life and you react to it with thought and/or speech. If you are the type of person who vocalizes an event that has just occurred, then you are using reactive thought and speech. On the other hand, if you accept the event as a history lesson and then carefully construct words which take you beyond the event, then you are using intentional thought and speech.

It may not seem all that important to you right now whether you are reactive or intentional with your energy, but this is a key element which will determine the kind of energy that you create and will either cause you to focus on the past or on the future. Regardless of which way you go at this point, the energy you've created is moving forward with time and therefore it is helping to create your future.

If your thought and speech are reactive, you are focusing on the past and by doing so, you are bringing it forward into your future, because energy is always moving forward with time, no matter what kind of energy it is. People who are reactive with thought and speech are always finding themselves repeating their mistakes and are not able to move past them.

When your thought and speech are intentional, rather than reactive, you are focusing on the present, which is exactly where you are right now. You aren't bringing the past into the future, so you don't have to worry about repeating your mistakes and your failed efforts.

In manifesting, it is said that you get what you focus on, and reactive versus intentional thought and speech is a perfect example of this.
